A Bridge of Faith: MCA Welcomes Kazakhstan’s Grand Mufti

On February 2nd, 2026, the Muslim Community Association (MCA) of the Bay Area had the distinct honor of hosting a high-level delegation from the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (SAMK). We welcomed His Eminence Nauryzbay Haji Taganuly Utpinov, the Grand Mufti of Kazakhstan along with the highest levels of Kazakh religious and diplomatic leadership, marking a significant moment for international Muslim diplomacy in Northern California.

The meeting centered on spiritual dialogue between the Grand Mufti and MCA Religious Director Imam Fuad Mohamed. The Grand Mufti also gifted MCA representatives with traditional kufis and a traditional Kazakh vessel—symbols of hospitality, generosity, and brotherhood.
