Job Description

Customer Service

  • Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, helpful service.​
  • Assist customers in locating books, supplies, and other merchandise.​
  • Answer basic questions about products, pricing, promotions, and store policies.​
  • Address customer concerns and escalate issues to the manager when appropriate.​

Cashier Duties 

  • Operate the cash register/point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently.
  • Process cash, credit/debit, and digital payments in line with store procedures.​
  • Issue receipts (email/text), refunds, and exchanges in accordance with store policies.​
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area.​

Store Maintenance & Inventory-Stock shelves

  • Ensure accurate labeling, and maintain attractive displays.​
  • Assist with receiving, unpacking, and shelving new inventory.​
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages or fast-moving items to the supervisor.​
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and reconciliation to ensure system quantities match on-hand quantities.​
  • Help verify and count incoming shipments for accuracy.​

Event Support

  • Support bookstore events, booths, and mobile or pop-up bookstore setups as needed.
  • Assist with on-site and off-site bookstore activities, depending on operational needs and availability.

General Support

  • Keep the store tidy, presentable, and aligned with safety and store procedures.​
  • Support bookstore promotions, seasonal campaigns, and special projects as required.

Part-Time

Compensation: Hourly pay range: $19.00 – $23.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
