UPDATES:

MCA Elections Update: The MCA Election Committee will host a Candidates Forum via Google Meet on  Saturday, July  19 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, insha’ Allah. We encourage all MCA members to attend to learn more about the candidates and make an informed decision when voting.

During the forum, candidates will:

• Share their background and qualifications

• Explain their motivation for running

• Present their vision for serving the community

• Answer questions from community members

Candidate Forum Guidelines

1. Keep discussions positive—no personal attacks

2. Respect privacy—recordings or sharing on social media is prohibited.

3. Hosts may mute participants if needed.

4. Moderators will remain neutral.

5. Please avoid excessive displays of support or opposition.

Dear MCA Members,

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

We pray for your continued safety, well-being, and that of your families. Our hearts remain with the people of Gaza and all our brothers and sisters experiencing hardship worldwide. May Allah (SWT) ease their suffering and grant them peace. Ameen.

The election process for the MCA Executive Board (EB) and Board of Trustees (BoT) for the Hijri year 1447 (2025–2026) is officially underway!

We invite all community members—especially youth aged 16 and up—to become members or renew their membership by May 10th to become eligible to nominate a candidate and by May 24th to vote. This is your opportunity to have a voice in selecting the leadership that will guide our community forward.

Your voice matters. Your participation is essential. Get involved, nominate a candidate, vote and shape the future.

May Allah (SWT) bless this election process with unity, integrity, and benefit for our community. Ameen.

Nomination Process

We invite you to take part in shaping the future of MCA by reviewing and nominating individuals who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and a passion for serving and strengthening our community across all areas of MCA.

1. Verify & check your membership status. *Be sure to renew your membership status to prevent gaps that would invalidate your eligibility
2. Check your voting and nomination eligibility
3. Submit a candidate for nomination using the forms below.

4. Mark the dates listed below to you calendar to join the candidate forum and take part in the election.

Nomination & Voting Eligibility:

• To Nominate: Member since May 10, 2025 or earlier

• To Vote: Member since May 24, 2025 or earlier

• To Be Nominated:

  • EB: Member for 2 of the last 5 years

  • BoT/President: Member for 3 of the last 5 years

• Candidate Bios Due: Tuesday, July 15

• Withdrawals Due: Wednesday, July 16

Open Positions

Executive Board (EB): 4 positions (2-year terms)

Board of Trustees (BoT): 2 positions (3–year terms)

Important Dates & Deadlines 

• May 10 – Membership Deadline: Be a Member since May 10, 2025 or earlier to be eligible to nominate a candidate.
• May 24 – Membership Deadline:  Be a Member since May 24, 2025 or earlier to be eligible to Vote.
• July 9 – Nomination Deadline: Wednesday, July 9 (by midnight)
• July 15 – Candidate Bios Due: Tuesday, July 15
• July 16 – Withdrawals Due: Wednesday, July 16
• July 19 – Candidates Forum (Online) Saturday, July 19 2025 from 2:15 PM – 4:30 PM Details: Rules of engagement will be shared before the forum. (Date subject to change.)
• July 23 – VOTING
  • Voting Period: Online voting will take place from Wednesday, July 23 at 6:00 AM (PST) to Friday, July 25 at 5:00 PM (PST).

  • In-Person Voting Support: Assistance for online voting will be available on Thursday, July 24 (exact time/location to be announced).
