A Day of Learning at MCA

What an incredible week at the Muslim Community Association (MCA)! We were honored to welcome 100 students from Palo Alto High School for a special day filled with learning, dialogue, and connection.

From the moment they arrived, the students’ enthusiasm and curiosity set the tone for an unforgettable visit. The program began with an inspiring talk by Zahra Billoo, who engaged the students in a thought-provoking discussion about faith, justice, and the everyday lives of Muslims in America. The students then observed the Dhuhr prayer, gaining a firsthand look at how Muslims center their days around reflection, spirituality, and community worship.

Following the prayer, a Q&A session with Imam Fuad opened the floor for dialogue. Students asked about Islam, cultural diversity, women in the community, and the meaning of worship and service. The exchange was sincere, engaging, and deeply human; the kind of conversation that builds bridges of understanding and mutual respect.

The visit also included a special interaction with Noor Hifz students, where the guests witnessed the beauty of Quran memorization and the dedication of young learners preserving sacred knowledge. Guided tours through the masjid gave students a closer look at the architecture, programs, and spaces that bring the MCA community to life.

This experience was more than just a tour, it was a moment where curiosity met understanding, questions found thoughtful answers, and community was strengthened through compassion and conversation. The MCA continues to uphold its mission of fostering peace, dialogue, and education by welcoming visitors from all backgrounds to learn, connect, and experience Islam in action.

Testimonial

“Thank you so much for opening MCA doors for our students, parents, and staff. We had an amazing time and the students have shared nothing but positive and glowing remarks about their experience learning about Islam, touring the beautiful facility, and meeting the MCA tour guides, students, and staff. The personal stories, connections, and perspectives your diverse staff and community shared helped educate our students that are currently learning about world religions about Islamic values, the role Islam plays in your daily lives, and helped combat biases that are so prevalent in the media today. Thank you again for allowing us into your community.”
