Position Overview
Provide Islamic religious guidance, practices, and leadership to the Muslim community of Muslim Community Association (MCA) and Masjid Noor, according to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him); establish and promote educational and extracurricular programs for adults and youth; lead the establishment of a unified Muslim community welcoming all Muslims from different backgrounds and cultures; engage with the larger community to promote friendship and understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims in the community. The imam will provide religious guidance
to the masjid attendees (men,women and youth), help to strengthen convert care and public outreach; and produce a steady stream of high-quality classes, khutbahs, khateras, series, and digital content that expand MCA’s reach and donor base. The role will design and steward an
advanced curriculum and develop an Islamic Studies Diploma track, and maintain weekly office hours for Fiqh related questions.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced training in Islamic law and its principles from a recognized institute or seminary, with graduate-level study in Fiqh or Usul al-Fiqh preferred
  • Demonstrated mastery in at least three of the following disciplines: Fiqh, Hadith, Tajwid, Seerah, Usul al-Fiqh, Ulum al-Qur’an
  • Proven record of classroom experience designing and delivering multi-week courses for adults and youth, including assessments and learning outcomes
  • Excellent English communication skills for teaching and counselling and demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Experience leading classes for Non-Muslims and converts about Islam
  • Comfortable producing basic digital content in partnership with a media team and using advanced learning platforms for signups and follow-ups
  • Strong khutbah and public speaking record, with the ability to address contemporary issues through authentic sources
  • Prior experience as an Imam and has the belief of Ahl al-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah
  • Design and deliver curriculum for delivery on a weekly basis in various fields like Fiqh, Aqeedah, Advanced Hadith programs, Seerah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
  • Familiarity with curriculum development for schools or weekend programs, including teacher training and observation protocols
  • Full-time with evenings and weekends as required with Ramadan, Dhul-Hijjah, and major programs involve peak periods
  • Demonstrated experience in daily khateras, Q&A style sessions, convert and youth talks, fundraising capabilities and Eid khutbahs
  • Work on additional programs with the Dawah Secretary as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multiple Ijazah or formal studies in canonical hadith collections or hadith methodologies, and/or competency in a recognized tajweed tradition.
  • Prior service as a resident or visiting scholar in a large, diverse North American community
  • Experience delivering certificate or diploma-style courses with measurable outcomes
  • Background in educational studies, psychology, or community development
  • Track record of interfaith or public-facing talks and campus or corporate sessions
  • Curriculum development for all religious instruction
    • audit of current syllabi, scope and sequence by grade band, teacher training modules and assessment templates
  • New Muslim curriculum:
    • 6-12 month sequenced pathway from Shahada to practice, paired with mentorship circles and one-to-one care
  • Proficient in Arabic and English, knowledge of additional languages is a plus

Salary Expectations: Total Compensation will be between $150,000-$170,000 depending on skillset and experience
