What is the MCA Matrimonials?
MCA Matrimonials is a new committee formed at the MCA Santa Clara, under the MCA Social Committee. The charter of MCA Matrimonials is to enable the eligible single Muslim brothers and sisters in our community to meet one another for the sole purpose of finding a suitable match for marriage.

What does the MCA Matrimonials committee do?
The MCA Matrimonials committee hosts periodic social events at the MCA for single Muslims. These events are structured to provide a safe environment for our eligible singles to meet others who share the objective of completing their deen by finding a partner suitable for marriage. These events are held under the guidance of the MCA board.

What happens at the MCA Matrimonials events?
MCA Matrimonial events are hosted by the matrimonial committee at the MCA Santa Clara. The events are designed to foster interaction and communication between the attendees by using some fun games or activities, which are led by the organizers. The games allow the participants to share some information about themselves, as well as learn about others. The environment is designed to be fun and casual to make it easy for making introductions and allow interaction between single Muslim men and Women. Light appetizers are served to keep the conversations going. When possible, a brief talk / discussion may be done at the beginning of the event by a local imam or sheikh on a topic that is relevant for the attendees.

Who attends the MCA Matrimonials events?
Attendees of our events are single Muslims looking to find a matrimonial partner in a halal and Islamic way. Attendees must register for each MCA Matrimonials event they plan to attend. Most of the attendees are local to the area, but some do come from further away to attend events.

Are these events held in accordance with Islamic guidelines?
All events adhere to guidelines of Islamic conduct, and are held with the supervision of the MCA board.

Is this a matchmaking service?
No, MCA Matrimonials is NOT a matchmaking service. The charter of MCA Matrimonials is to enable the eligible single Muslim brothers and sisters in our community to meet one another for the sole purpose of finding a suitable match for marriage. This is done through social events held by MCA Matrimonials so that eligible singles may meet one another.

How can I attend an event?
Events are held at MCA, Santa Clara, or in other venues in the area. Event pre-registration is required and is advertised in the community newsletters leading up to the event. If there is additional capacity at the day of the event, potential attendees can show up and register at the door. However, attendees are highly encouraged to register before the event.

Can parents attend these events with or without their adult children?
We want to try and provide a comfortable and pressure free environment for our singles, so we respectfully advise parents not to attend. If there is interest, we may hold separate events for parents with their marriage aged children.

How much does it cost to attend an event?
Event registration fee may vary for each event. Depending on the scale of the event, this fee may vary from $30 - $60.

Is the event registration fee refundable if I am unable to come after I have already paid?
We do not offer refunds for registration for the events. However, we may be able to provide credit for a future event, if you would like to attend.

How do I find out about an upcoming event?
The information for all events are provided via MCA’s Calendar, MCA Matrimonials web page (on the MCA-SFBA website), flyers, social media, and word of mouth. To get on our mailing list for future events, please join our mailing list.
