Resources
  • Student Projects
We help students who have assignment from school/colleges/University with their research to write a report or a paper about Islam. We've conducted interviews and point students to the right direction. We also allow guests to use our library which carries a good collection of books and audio/visuals on Islamic theology and the lives of muslims.
  • Schedule Presentation
We've been sending speakers based on requests to various places of worship. We've spoken in front of small and large audience alike. The presentation is tailored to the level of audience knowledge/familiarity of Islam. The length of presentation is determined by the host but normally ranges from 15-30 minutes, followed by Q&A session.
  • Request Literature

The MCA outreach office provides Qur'an (Muslim's holy book) in a variety of languages such as Engllish, Spanish, French, Urdu, Russian, etc. and other literatures about Islam free of charge to people of all faiths in the San Francisco Bay Area. You can contact a local mosque through IslamicFinder for resources on Islam in your area.

Programs
  • Discover Islam Lecture Series
MCA Outreach is launching a new series of classes designed for people of all faiths. These classes are free, covered over 5 weeks period to closely examine and discuss "the essence of Islam". At a time when there is a growing interest to learn about Islam and when Islam is still widely misunderstood, these classes could have not been more timely.
  • Mosque Tour

We are pleased to open the doors of our mosque to anyone who is interested. We've hosted individuals, students and groups from churches. Typically, we will open with a brief presentation about Islam, followed by Q&A, observation of the prayer (and Sermon if it's on a Friday) and close with the tour of the mosque.

The tour is held every last Friday of the month from noon-2pm including an optional lunch. We can also arrange a tour by appointment for any number of guests if the set schedule does not work.

  • Inside Islam Lecture Series
Our monthly program called "Inside Islam" continues to bring in people from different background who are interested in learning more about Islam & its many aspects. Through this program, we aim to explain Islam in a friendly and structured way, while allowing the guests to interact with Muslims.

We want people to see Islam in its true light, to put a human face to an otherwise foreign concept and to educate people about one of the world's greatest but widely misunderstood religion. Classes are FREE and open to people of all faiths.
  • Open House
The Muslim Community Association hosts a major open house once a year bringing together hundreds of people of all faiths to learn about Islam. After the tragedy of 911, there was a surge of interest in learning about Islam and these open houses have worked well in educating the community and eliminating common stereotypes about Islam and Muslims. This program has been attended by political and interfaith leaders, the media, colleagues, friends and neighbors.

Typically, the program consists of a presentation by a Muslim scholar followed by a Q&A session. The guests have the opportunity to meet and interact with Muslims from all over the world while enjoying a delicious meal.

  • New Muslim Class
The MCA Support and Education Center helps new Muslims as well as interested Muslims learning the basics and teachings of Islam through weekly classes based on a defined curriculum. The classes are informal and interactive in style and they're geared towards presenting Islam in an easy and practical way that helps new muslims acquire a solid and healthy understanding of the religion.
