Parking complaint from MCA neighbors

Santa Clara, CA 95054

We need to engage your help and cooperation in a situation that has gotten way out of hand. On Fridays your visitors are parking on our property, Located at 3130, 3140 and 1900 Duane (Gold's Gym location) that is clearly marked private and with tow signs that have been approved by the Santa Clara Police Department.

The first complaint came from our tenant, First Choice Services about six weeks ago. Employees left for lunch and in coming back could not park next to their business. We immediately placed a call to you and you stated that we should tow these cars and that you had made your visitors aware that they should not park on surrounding private property.

The following week, we had our maintenance personnel on the property to politely request your visitors not to park on the property. Most people left, a few were very rude and stayed. The week following this we posted employees on the property again, this time giving them a written notice that this was the last notice.

The next week, we fully intended to tow, however, someone had stolen the posted towing signs.

On April 16th, we hired a Security Service to deal with the problem. We made note of license numbers and called the towing company. Unfortunately, by the time the towing company arrived at the property, your visitors were gone.

What really concerns me is the attitude and entitlement of a few. My employees have been flipped off, refused to leave, have been threatened with law suits. Come on, they are clearly in the wrong here.

The Santa Clara Police department has been made aware of the situation and of the threats. They are on notice to be involved next Friday, should we have a situation. We most certainly will tow the cars, but on a bigger issue, why is this happening? Why is there no respect for private property?

The man hours and security have a financial impact on our company that is no longer tolerable. I urge you to please notify your visitors once again that they must respect the rights of others in the neighborhood.

Thank you for your cooperation
Dale Green, Asset Manager
Sleepy Hollow Management Company
