Dear Community Members Assalamu Alaikum,
We pray that Allah Almighty showers you and your families with blessings and benefits during those last 10 days of Ramadan. Below please find some reminders and guidelines for all of us:
1- I’tikaf: is an act of worship and will inshaAllah reap much benefits and rewards from Allah swt. I’tikaf is not a slumber party. We expect everyone including our youth to act appropriately inshaAllah, to respect the rights of others for a quiet environment that is conducive to worship, and we expect everyone to help us keep the masjid clean.
2- Suhoor: will inshaAllah be provided on a daily basis by a few brothers from our community who every year sponsor the Suhoor on their own. Please make duah for them and give them a hand when you can, especially in cleaning up after suhoor.
3- Youth: Our youth are welcome to do I’tikaf in the Masjid on condition that they have one of their parents with them during I’tikaf at ALL times if they are under the age of 18.
4- Curfew: There will be a curfew from 11:30PM to Fajr daily during the last 10 days, and absolutely no youth will be permitted in the masjid after 11:30PM without their parents’ presence with them.
5- Prayer Halls: Bottled water is ok in the prayer halls. All other drink and food items are NOT permitted in the prayer halls at any time.
6- Taraweeh: During the last 10 days of Ramadan, all youth need to be inside the masjid during the first 8 rakaas of taraweeh for safety reasons.
7- Parking Lots: No youth/kids should be hanging out in the parking lot at any time during taraweeh for safety reasons. There is enough space in the school playground area for everyone.
8- Parents: It is a big challenge for our volunteers to watch over more than 500 youth that attend the masjid on a nightly basis during weekends. We REALLY need your help. We urge parents to take some time off from taraweeh and help our volunteers in watching over their own kids. If you can help please contact brother Isa Shaw at isa.shaw@mcabayarea.org or sister Michelle Lee at michelle.lee@mcabayarea.org and may Allah reward you in advance.
9- Zakat ul Fitr: The Eid Fitra/Zakat ul fitr is $7/person. Kindly donate this amount per person on behalf of your families as soon as possible so that we are able to distribute the funds before Eid.
10- Eid Festival: InshaAllah we will have 2 Eid prayers on Saturday Oct. 13th and a Eid Festival on the MCA premises. More details about the prayer timing and festival details will be announced soon inshaAllah.
We sincerely thank you for your support and understanding and for your assistance in making this Ramadan a smooth and beautiful experience for all of us.
