  About MCA  

The Muslim Community Association (MCA) was incorporated in 1981 as a non-profit religious organization. Founded by dynamic professionals and Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, MCA provides religious and social services to a large and diverse Muslim constituency that comes from over 40 nationalities, including the United States, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Bosnia etc.

Our Mission 

We are the Muslim Community Association of the San Francisco Bay Area In cooperation with Muslim communities around the Bay Area, our mission is to: Live our faith as a congregation, inspired by the teachings of the Quran and Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) as individuals and as a collective body, and to foster a mission of peace, justice and compassion for all within our Mosque, our community and the world.


Our Values

In pursuit of our mission we choose to emphasize these particular values:

  • The spiritual power of community committed to prayer and service

Our Goals

  • To live and share our faith with all God's people.
  • To teach Islamic beliefs and values in the context of deepening spirituality and community involvement.

  • To make our Mosques vital centers for worship and community needs.
  • To empower the community to lead an Islamic way of life.

Services Provided

MCA provides services for the Muslim community and the community at-large in the Silicon Valley. 


General Services 

  • Congregational prayers and services for over 2000 people.
  • Educational programs for both adult and school age children, for women and men.
  • Youth activities and enrichment.

Social Service

  • The center provides financial assistance to needy families.
  • Subsidized schooling for needy children.
  • Islamic counseling.
  • Free medical and legal clinic for all. 

Major Milestones in MCA's History

1980, a few families founded MCA and rented building with capacity for 75 persons.
1984, purchased Mosque on Catherine Street.
1993, purchased building on Scott Blvd and established the MCA center.

MCA owns and operates two buildings: the MCA Islamic Center (includes a mosque) on 3003 Scott Blvd and Masjid An-Noor (another mosque) on 1755 Catherine Street, both are in Santa Clara. MCA also operates three educational service institutions: Granada Islamic School (K-8), Weekend (Sunday) Islamic School, and Al Arqam School.
